Canada Act
TORONTO, Dec. 10 /CNW/ - United Steelworkers Canadian Director Ken Neumann will unveil a detailed proposal to reform the Investment Canada Act, during a national roundtable on foreign investment Monday in Ottawa.
Legislation must be strengthened to ensure foreign takeovers benefit all Canadians, Neumann said in advance of Monday's roundtable.
New Democratic Party Leader Jack Layton convened the roundtable, in the wake of a series of foreign takeovers that have resulted in massive job loss, labour strife and economic harm to communities.
