Media advisory - Unveiling of world's first Underwater Compressed Air Energy Storage system in Toronto

TORONTO, Nov. 16, 2015 /CNW/ - Toronto Hydro and HydroStor Incorporated invite members of the media to attend the official launch of a new and innovative energy storage system, called HydroStor.

Energy storage systems are designed to store electricity during off-peak hours when demand is low and electricity is cheapest. HydroStor is the first system to be located underwater (in Lake Ontario).

Following the announcement, media are also invited to tour the HydroStor energy conversion centre located on Toronto Island.
