OTTAWA, June 5, 2014 /CNW/ - Veterans Affairs Canada, in partnership with the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, will host a commemorative ceremony on June 6, 2014, in honour of the 70th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, and the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, will join Veterans, their families, youth, current serving Canadian Armed Forces members and representatives from the Government of Canada to pay tribute to all Canadians who fought so valiantly to capture Juno Beach.
