Media Advisory - Victoria Fenner takes the helm at rabble.ca's podcast network

TORONTO, April 11, 2014 /CNW/ - rabble.ca is happy to announce that Victoria Fenner will be taking on the leadership of the rabble podcast network (rpn) as Executive Producer.

"I'm extremely happy to have Victoria's experience and mentoring skills with us at rabble.ca. Victoria is sure to bring innovative ideas to the network, bring in new voices and work well with the podcasters who are already producing with the network," said rabble.ca Editor-in-Chief Meagan Perry, who is turning over the post at the podcast network to Fenner.

"The podcast network has always expanded the breadth of stories we're able to tell at rabble.ca and with Victoria's production and training skills, the rpn will continue to grow, drawing in new podcasters and stories," said rabble.ca Publisher Kim Elliott.

Fenner brings over 30 years of experience in community radio, technical and production work at the CBC, audio artistry and podcast production to rabble.ca. She has worked in all sectors of the audio production industry, including with community radio stations in the United States and Canada, where she managed the McMaster University campus station. She was also president of the Community Radio Fund in 2009, working closely with the National Campus Radio Association (NCRA).

Fenner has worked extensively with the rpn in the past, producing documentaries for Earth Chronicle Productions, which was one of the first rabble.ca environmental podcasts, and House of Sound and Story, an audio art podcast. Fenner also runs The New Media Learning Studio, which offers podcast training.

The rabble podcast network was founded in 2005 when podcasting was in its infancy. Meagan Perry, who moved on to the role of rabble Editor-in-Chief in 2013, leaves the role of rpn Executive Producer.  A former CBC radio producer herself, Perry has developed the network into one of the "go-to" places for listeners who want an alternative take on politics, entertainment, society, stories, community and life in general. Perry has also been a producer and host of the popular rpn flagship show rabble radio.
