MEDIA ADVISORY - Victoria Mayor to Address Union's Health and Safety Conference
VICTORIA, April 7, 2013 /CNW/ - The Mayor of Victoria, Dean Fortin, will speak to Communications Energy and Paperworkers Union (CEP) delegates attending a Health and Safety Conference on Monday, April 8.
About 200 delegates are attending the national union's health and safety conference in Victoria until Wednesday, April 10. This year's conference focus is on leadership for mental health in the workplace.
"The number of Canadians who are struggling with mental health issues in the workplace is staggering," said CEP National President Dave Coles. "We picked the theme for this year's conference to give some of our members a sense that there is lot of work to do to ensure safe workplaces to everyone."
Other keynote speakers of the conference include Michael Landsberg, host of TSN's "Off the Record", and Dr. David Goldbloom, Chair of the Mental Health Commission of Canada.
