Media Advisory - Visa to host fraud prevention seminar for seniors in Vancouver
VANCOUVER, Feb. 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Seniors are all too often the primary target of fraudulent phone calls and email scams, and new survey results from Visa show that many are not having important discussions about fraud. To mark Fraud Prevention Month, Visa Canada will host a free fraud prevention seminar in Vancouver to help jump start the conversation and educate seniors about how they can protect themselves from card scams and other fraud risks.
The seminar, to be held on March 5, will educate seniors about safe financial practices and equip participants with the tools and know-how to better protect themselves and their identities. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and speak with industry experts firsthand. A representative from Crime Stoppers Metro Vancouver will also be on site to provide additional comment and perspective.
