ABOUT WALK FOR MEMORIES
Walk for Memories is Canada's largest in-door walk in support of Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Participants walk 2.2 km through Toronto's PATH.
The event attracts over 2,000 walkers from across the GTA: people living with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia, their friends, families and caregivers. This year's goal is to raise $680,000. So far, more than112 youth fundraisers, who'll be on site, have raised approximately $32,000.
The Alzheimer Society of Toronto serves 46,000 plus individuals with dementia in the GTA through counselling, support groups and therapeutic workshops, and provides education sessions for the public and health professionals.
Media are asked to register at the Media Table upon arrival. Interviews and photos can be arranged.
