Media Advisory - Watchdog group to issue first report card on McGuinty
government track record on contraband cigarettes
TORONTO, Nov. 23 /CNW/ - The National Coalition Against Contraband Tobacco (NCACT) will issue its first report card on the McGuinty government's record on battling the spread of contraband tobacco. NCACT will also call for specific measures by the provincial government to choke off the supply of illegal cigarettes.
The NCACT report includes an analysis of the Ontario Government's action in five important areas including: youth protection, penalties and sentencing, public education, tax revenue collection and resources for law enforcement.
