The World Series of Poker Circuit Event ® (WSOP) to make its first ever Canadian circuit debut at the River Rock Casino Resort, in Richmond BC, from October 27-November 7, 2012
RICHMOND, BC, Sept. 6, 2012 /CNW/ - The highly popular, world-renowned World Series of Poker will be making its first Canadian tour stop this autumn at the magnificent River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, B.C.

This is the ninth season of the WSOP Circuit Events and the first time it will be held in Canada. Tournament structure can be found online at www.riverrock.com/wsopc Tournament buy-ins range from $365 to $1675. Participants will compete at over 12 events for the shot at over 2.5 million dollars in total prize money. Ten live events will be held at the River Rock casino Resort October 27th to November 7th 2012 and 2 online events will take place on www.Playnow.com on November 17th and 25th, 2012. (Online events are open to residents of BC and Quebec only). Winner of the featured WSOP Canadian Circuit Event will also compete for one million dollars and a gold bracelet at the Main Event of the National Championships which will take place in New Orleans in 2013 (winner must be 21 years old to attend the New Orleans Championships).
World Series of Poker is the longest-running and one of the most prestigious gaming events which dates back to 1970. To date, WSOP events have paid more than $1.4 billion in total prize money.
