GUELPH, ON, Oct. 3, 2013 /CNW/ - Speroway is hosting Laughing Matters, a fundraising event headlining comedian Derek Edwards, with Matt Disero and Jim McNally. On October 3rd Derek Edwards' will bring his award-winning rural humour that has made him Canada's premiere comedian to Guelph's very own River Run Centre. Identifying himself with the ordinary working guy, his comedic gift is making the ordinary extraordinary.

As our very first venture into a new way to fundraising for community Speroway believes that the most valuable part of the evening is community supporting community.
Proceeds from this event will go directly back into Guelph; supporting the work Speroway is doing procuring and distributing food.
About Speroway:
Since 2004 Speroway has been rooted in Guelph and they have made an impact in this community that is certainly no laughing matter. As a registered charity, Speroway lives up to their tag line of "Meeting Needs. Delivering Hope."
Currently, Speroway supports four major local food agencies in Guelph. Through these partnerships, Speroway is able to deliver food to more than 18 other food pantries located in Guelph. Speroway regularly distributes approx. 34,000 pounds of food in Guelph each month, along with hundreds of food boxes that are distributed annually. In Guelph alone, there are 21 emergency food shelters that are continually struggling to provide enough food for vulnerable families and Speroway is there to assist them.
