WHAT: |
Hundreds of cyclists will take to the roads in Bradford, Newmarket, Uxbridge, Aurora, Markham and King City for the Ride for Karen, an annual cycling event that raises money to support children living with cancer. |
The ride was founded in 2002 by Kirk and Kris Tobias as a tribute to their mother Karen Tobias who passed away from breast cancer. Proceeds from the ride go to Camp Quality, Camp Oochigeas and Camp Trillium to provide year-round support programs for children with cancer and their families. Sponsored by Scotiabank, the event has raised more than $2,000,000 to date. |
