Family donation is the largest gift by individual donors to a community hospital in Canadian history.
TORONTO, April 24, 2012 /CNW/ - On Thursday, April 26, North York General Hospital (NYGH) will formally launch the largest fundraising campaign in its history and the most ambitious comprehensive campaign to be undertaken by a Canadian community hospital. The $150 million fundraising initiative will support facility upgrades, new technologies and equipment, research and education, as well as emerging priorities.
The Steinbergs and Nanjis, two Canadian families who are well known to the Hospital for their long-standing philanthropic leadership and generosity, will help launch the fundraising campaign with monumental contributions.
What: To celebrate the launch of this historic campaign, NYGH is hosting an event at the Hospital. Media are invited to attend and meet the lead donors to learn about their personal motivation for giving. Interview opportunities will also be available with Hospital and Foundation representatives who can provide insight into the importance of this community campaign.
*Note: Upon request, an exclusive tour of the Hospital can be arranged to highlight areas that will be positively impacted by the current campaign and showcase recent hospital areas that have benefited from community philanthropy. Photos of hospital facilities and equipment can also be made available.
