Civil society actors launch a major mobilization movement for the East End of Montreal
MONTREAL, May 10, 2023 /CNW/ - The Chambre de commerce de l'Est de Montréal and the members of the Steering Committee of an important mobilization initiative for the East End of Montreal invite media representatives this Thursday, May 11, at 3:00 p.m. for a press conference to launch the initiative live from La TOHU Cité des Arts du Cirque.
This initiative is supported by a variety of civil society actors, such as the Alliance pour l'Est de Montréal, ALPA, Centraide of Greater Montreal, the Comité de développement de l'Est de Montréal, the Foundation of Greater Montreal, Montreal International, PME MTL, as well as by the Government of Canada, through the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, by the Government of Quebec and by the City of Montreal.
The following elected officials will speak at the press conference: Pierre Fitzgibbon, Minister of the Economy, Innovation and Energy, Minister responsible for Regional Economic Development and Minister responsible for the Metropolis and the Montreal Region; Soraya Martinez Ferrada, MP for Hochelaga and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Housing and Diversity and Inclusion (responsible for Housing); as well as the vice-president of the executive committee, responsible for large parks, sports and recreation, Mount Royal, Parc Jean-Drapeau, Espace pour la vie and the East End of Montreal, Caroline Bourgeois.
