MEDIA ADVISORY - A special RCMP 150 edition of the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies

OTTAWA, ON, May 16, 2023 /CNW/ - On May 17, 2023 members of the media are invited to the Musical Ride stables in advance of the RCMP Canadian Sunset Ceremonies and the Musical Ride's 2023 tour commemorating the RCMP's 150 year milestone.

Media can

• interview Musical Ride members
• brush on the maple leaf using the stencil and wet brush
• watch a warm up and/or rehearsal (starts at noon)
• tour the stables

Access to the event will be limited and restricted. Media representatives must schedule a time in advance by contacting RCMP Media Relations at [email protected] by May 16, 2023, 4:00 pm EDT.

Media arrival: Members of the media are asked to arrive at the RCMP Musical Ride facilities at their confirmed time of arrival. Please park in visitors parking across from the stables or along the sidewalk in front of the stables and proceed on foot to the door with the Mountie Shop sign to meet with your escort. Visitors must be accompanied at all times.

Canadian Sunset Ceremonies
We're pleased to offer 4 family-friendly performances on May 19, 20, 21 and one on the RCMP's 150th anniversary, May 23! The show begins at 7 pm every night.

Each show features our special guests: the RCMP Pipes, Drums and Dancers, Capital Cowgirls and Governor General's Foot Guards Band. The show ends with a performance by the world-famous Musical Ride!

Admission to is free. Arrive early to get a good spot and check out our RCMP and partner booths and food vendors. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the show!

Media is also welcome to attend the Canadian Sunset Ceremonies.

Musical Ride tour
The Musical Ride performs in communities across Canada, raising funds for local charities and organizations. This year, the Musical Ride tour is travelling across Canada to mark the 150th anniversary of the RCMP. The RCMP 150th anniversary tour has stops in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, PEI, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia
