The pioneer of French Immersion in Canada celebrates history of academic excellence and leadership
TORONTO, Sept. 25, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Toronto French School (TFS) - Canada's International School, is kicking off its 50th year with true joie de vivre. To celebrate a long history of academic excellence including the invention of French immersion in Canada, over 1,600 students and staff will march to the Play & Sports Field and form a giant human number 50. The celebration will also include a school wide flash mob dance, the singing of the new school song written by two TFS teachers and remarks from TFS Headmaster, The Honourable Dr. John Godfrey.
With humble beginnings that included six students in the basement of school founder Harry Giles' home, today TFS is renowned as being the leading Canadian bilingual International Baccalaureate (IB) school providing more than 1,300 students a year with an internationally focused education.
Media are invited to the first of many celebratory events that will commemorate the impact that the school continues to have in the lives of thousands of children.
When: Friday September 28, 2012 from 2:15 - 3:00 p.m.
