Olympic Rower Chris Jarvis to Rally Riders at Metro Toronto Convention Centre
TORONTO, Sept. 29 /CNW/ - Over 1,500 corporate teams and thousands of riders will converge on the Metro Toronto Convention Centre this Friday, October 1 for the 22nd annual JDRF Toronto Ride for Diabetes Research.
The Ride goal is to raise $2.75 million to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research for adults and children with the disease, like 12 year-old Youth Ambassador Halle.
"People should come out for this year's ride because it's a great cause. There are a lot of children out there with Juvenile Diabetes and right now there's no cure. A cure for us would mean giving us our lives back," said Halle. Type 1 diabetes is a complex disease that affects the lives of over 300,000 Canadians.
