MONTREAL, March 17, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - In the wake of the Fifth Assessment Report released by Working Group I of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) last September, the OURANOS consortium invites media representatives to an information session on the Working Group II report on climate change vulnerabilities, impacts, and adaptation.
For the session, OURANOS will assemble a panel of experts who will briefly explain the environmental, economic, and social aspects of the vulnerability to climate change and the consequences for ecological systems, socioeconomic sectors, the built environment, and human health. Special attention will be devoted to aspects that are particularly germane to certain regions of Quebec.

The scientific panel will consist of Linda Mortsch of the University of Waterloo and Environment Canada and Liza Leclerc of Ouranos, both of whom are directly involved in preparing the IPCC Working Group II report, as well as Caroline Larrivée of Ouranos. The session will be moderated by Ouranos executive director Alain Bourque.
