Media Advisory: Angels in the Night teams deliver goods to 65 homeless
shelters in 12 cities across Canada

TORONTO , Dec. 2 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, December 8, 2009 , hundreds of volunteers across Canada will take part in the 8th annual Angels in the Night program, personally delivering essential goods to 65 homeless shelters in 12 Canadian cities.

This event marks a year's worth of fundraising efforts in support of The Salvation Army by Angels in the Night, a program established by Invis, one of Canada's largest mortgage brokerage firms. Program volunteers work directly with homeless shelters in their communities to find out what they need most, purchase new items and distribute them on a single night. The program has raised more than $1.26 million since it was created in 2002.

    
    What:     Angels in the Night volunteers will give newly purchased hats,
              gloves, outerwear, pyjamas, toiletries, and other supplies to
              65 registered charitable community shelters across Canada.
              Invis spokespersons are available for interviews onsite as they
              prepare to deliver the goods to families and individuals in
              need.

    When:     Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Times vary by location.

    Where:    Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Vernon, Cranbrook,
              Calgary, Red Deer, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Toronto and Halifax.
