OTTAWA, Feb. 21, 2019 /CNW/ - More than 160 delegates from the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO), a Franco-Ontarian association that represents teachers and educators, will be attending the Association's annual meeting held February 22 to 24, 2019 at the Toronto Airport Hilton Hotel in Mississauga. This year's annual meeting is held while the AEFO celebrates its 80th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the AEFO's Anniversary Award will be presented, Saturday at noon, to the Coalition ontarienne de la formation aux adultes (COFA) (Ontario coalition for adult learning). The AEFO will also present the Franco-Ontarian Award of Merit to teacher Denis Jacques of école secondaire catholique Père-René-de-Galinée Catholic high school (Cambridge, Ontario) for his outstanding contributions to the French language and to Francophone culture with regards to Franco-Ontarian youth.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to listen to and ask questions to the opposition education critic, NDP MPP Marit Stiles.
