Media Advisory - Building a resilient society - Foundation of Greater Montréal presents its 2020 Vital Signs of Greater Montréal report Français
MONTRÉAL, June 9, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, June 9 at 10 a.m., the Foundation of Greater Montreal will present the findings of its 2020 Vital Signs of Greater Montreal report, produced this year by the Institut du Québec (IdQ). This announcement will take place through a virtual talk, in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal.
Marking the 20th anniversary of the Foundation of Greater Montréal, the report paints a portrait of 20 years of evolution (2000-2019) of our Greater Montréal community, using the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a framework for analysis. At a time when the COVID-19 crisis has brought to light several urgent social needs, this report reviews both the progress made and the challenges remaining in building a more resilient society.
The economic and social repercussions of the pandemic highlight the weaknesses of our community. This report provides an opportunity to reflect on :
- The challenges it will face towards becoming more resilient
- The type of society we seek to rebuild in the aftermath of the crisis.
- The strengths characterizing Greater Montreal on which we can rely to work toward its recovery.
