Toronto's Food Rescue Charity brings together media to raise awareness of food rescue TODAY - Second Harvest Hero Day
TORONTO, Feb. 5, 2015 /CNW/ - Every day in Toronto good food goes to waste while people go hungry. Today, Second Harvest is inviting the media to attend a special lunch at Salad King to raise awareness of food rescue.
On Thursday, February 5th at noon, media are invited for lunch at Salad King as Second Harvest kicks off its annual Hero workplace fundraising campaign. Salad King will be taken over by Heroes in bright green masks and capes. Interview opportunities with food rescue expert, Debra Lawson, local volunteers and Salad King Manager and Second Harvest supporter, Jason King.

Funds raised through the Hero campaign enable Second Harvest to rescue surplus food, that would otherwise go to waste, and deliver that good food to social service agencies across the city, feeding hungry children, adults and seniors. Salad King will be donating all proceeds from the day to Second Harvest.
