TORONTO, May 9, 2022 /CNW/ - Canada Post invites you to a special naming ceremony at the unveiling event of our new 585,000-square-foot parcel processing facility on Thursday, May 12 in Scarborough North.
- The facility will serve as a central parcel hub to better meet the growing demand for online shopping in the Greater Toronto Area and across Canada.
- This facility will be Canada Post's first zero-carbon building and the largest industrial project in Canada with the Zero Carbon Building Standard designation.
- The naming ceremony will honour the important legacy of an individual who overcame significant racial barriers 140 years ago.
- A number of the namesake's extended family will attend the celebration.
- The parcel processing facility is expected to open in early 2023.

Please arrive at the front of the facility (tented area) near the corner of Steeles Avenue East and Tapscott Road, and follow the event signage. Parking is available on-site.
As the facility is still under construction, there will be shuttle tours to take guests around the perimeter of the facility. A fact sheet and B-roll including a video tour of the interior of the building will be available.
