MEDIA ADVISORY - Canada Post to unveil stamp of Sergeant Tommy Prince, one of Canada's most-decorated Indigenous war veterans Français
WINNIPEG, MB, Oct. 13, 2022 /CNW/ - Canada Post will unveil a stamp honouring Sergeant Thomas (Tommy) George Prince, one of Canada's most decorated Indigenous war veterans and non-commissioned officers, and a prominent Anishinaabe activist. He served in the Second World War and Korean War, and also advocated for the abolition of the Indian Act, in his role of vice-president and spokesperson for the Manitoba Indian Association.
The upcoming stamp will be officially issued on October 28, after it is unveiled in Winnipeg on Monday, October 17.
