Fitness lovers re-connect in person to focus on recovery, health promotion, inclusivity
TORONTO, Aug. 4, 2022 /CNW/ - Fitness and wellness experts will join fitness professionals and consumers August 10-14 at the canfitpro 2022 Global Conference and Trade Show, one of the largest conferences in the fitness space. The event will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (south building) for the first time in person since 2019.
Fitness, nutrition and wellness experts will spotlight trends, share expertise and lead workouts. This year's event includes topical sessions on pandemic recovery, inclusive fitness and workouts for active aging and mental health. Participants can also visit 200+ leading companies showcasing the latest fitness trends, nutrition, apparel and equipment in the industry.
Media are invited to interview presenters, try the latest workouts and sample fitness equipment, fashions and products. The majority of sessions are happening Friday, August 12, 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, August 13, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

5 Fearless Predictions about the Future of Fitness: Global fitness juggernaut Emma Barry will take us through the pros and cons of the latest and upcoming fitness technologies and how they can and will change how we work out. Barry is a global fitness authority specializing in fit-tech, fit-trends, and fit-talent. Co-founder of Good Soul Hunting – Barry's impatience with the status quo, infectious energy, and innovative flair unlocks and activates game-changing ideas.
Barre workouts, athletic results: Barre workouts have been on-trend for a number of years and now are expected to be offered on the Group Fitness schedule. Members want a workout that is smart and results-driven. Experience the SoulBody Barre format that takes a more dynamic, athletic approach. Taught by Stacey Vandiver, the class is set to music that makes the body move and feel good.

Kickbox HIIT. No Equipment? No problem! This body weight only HIIT kickboxing workout, led by Connecticut-based state police trainer, gang violence expert and fitness entrepreneur Karla Medina, will give you the high intensity metabolic effect you need to get results anytime and anywhere.
Power Walking. The Forgotten Workout: Nationally-ranked race walker and kinesiologist Sarah Zahab will talk about the basics and the benefits of speed walking. Outdoor power walking classes are currently a huge trend and power walking can be an excellent cardiovascular activity to incorporate into your programming. Include it as part of your circuit classes, teach it as a class of its own or instruct the technique to your runner clients who take walking breaks and don't want to lose precious time.
Mindful Warrior – Sword-based Fitness: Using custom weighted wooden swords, Jungshin Fitness will take your body and mind through a stimulating, cutting-edge workout. During this session you will experience the deep benefits of ancient eastern modalities while you achieve maximum health through movement.
