Media advisory: Children's Aid Society of Ottawa workers hold rally to say, 'Fair Pay, Protect Children'
OTTAWA, ON, Sept. 27, 2023 /CNW/ - On Thursday, September 28, members of OPSEU/SEFPO Local 454 who work at the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa will hold a rally outside the offices of The Children's Aid Society to demand increased worker safety, better wages, and improved working conditions.
DATE: Thursday, September, 28
TIME: 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m.
LOCATION: The Children's Aid Society of Ottawa, 1602 Telesat Court, Ottawa, ON K1B 1B1
Due to funding cuts, understaffing and neglect by the Ford Conservative government, workers at The Children's Aid Society of Ottawa are facing a severe workload crisis.
Workers at the Children's Aid Society support our most vulnerable children and their working conditions directly impact the quality of care, making it crucial to address these issues to ensure the well-being of both workers and the children relying on them.
This rally is a call to the public to contact The Children's Aid Society of Ottawa's Board Chair, Deborah Tunis, and the Minister of Children, Community and Social Services, Michael Parsa, to address staff concerns like safety and burnout.
