Media Advisory: CNIB Centre in Toronto Closed Due to Inclement Weather

TORONTO, Dec. 22, 2013 /CNW/ - CNIB today announced that the CNIB Centre in Toronto, located at 1929 Bayview Avenue, will be closed on Monday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 24, due to the winter storm.  All CNIB Centre programs, services and activities are cancelled on Monday the 23 and Tuesday the 24 of December. Freezing rain and ice have caused a power failure at the CNIB Centre, which also means the CNIB website, CNIB.ca, is down.

CNIB is asking all staff, volunteers and clients to stay home on Monday and Tuesday.  We hope everyone in Toronto is safe and warm, but should anyone need to seek assistance the The City of Toronto has posted a list of community centres that are open as warming centres, that list is available here.

The CNIB Centre will re-open for business on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
