Media Advisory: Discussion of New Poll Process, February 9, 2016
TORONTO, Jan. 26, 2016 /CNW/ - On Election Day, Thursday February 11, 2016, Elections Ontario will be piloting a new poll model in 42 voting locations in the Whitby-Oshawa provincial By-election.
Whitby-Oshawa electors may notice the new process in participating voting locations and see the following equipment:
- electronic Poll Book
- Vote Tabulators
This pilot allows Elections Ontario to test technologies, develop new processes and make recommendations for improvements to our electoral process.
Following the By-election, Elections Ontario will table a report to the Legislative Assembly evaluating the findings and making recommendations for the 2018 General Election.
