Media advisory - Environment and Climate Change Canada's update on Canada's Rapid Extreme Weather Event Attribution system and results gathered during summer 2024 Français
GATINEAU, QC, Oct. 24, 2024 /CNW/ - Media representatives are advised that Environment and Climate Change Canada will hold a media availability with regard to Canada's Rapid Extreme Weather Event Attribution system and the 37 hottest heat waves that impacted 17 regions across the country during the summer of 2024. The results will show how much more likely human-caused climate change made each heat wave and how many degrees above normal temperatures rose. Upcoming new capabilities for the system will also be introduced.
Scientists specializing in climate research and meteorologists will be briefing and then addressing questions from the media.
The media availability will be held via Zoom.
