Media Advisory: Environmental Defence spokespeople available to comment on Budget 2014 in Ottawa tomorrow
OTTAWA, Feb. 10, 2014 /CNW/ - The federal budget to be tabled tomorrow may contain measures to restrict environmental charities' ability to be involved in environmental policy.
Environmental charities work to prevent climate change, protect drinking water and air, and get toxic chemicals out of kids' clothes and food. This work may be at risk due to potential measures in the 2014 budget aimed at silencing opposing views.
Environmental Defence spokespeople will be in Ottawa and available to comment tomorrow on these potential measures.
Environmental Defence will also comment on other aspects of the budget that affect the environment and health, such as subsidies to fossil fuel companies, energy efficiency and clean energy.
