OTTAWA, ON, Aug. 17, 2022 /CNW/ - The Federal Housing Advocate, Marie-Josée Houle, will visit British Columbia from August 22 – September 2, 2022, to meet with community organizations and people with lived experience of inadequate housing and homelessness.
This visit to Victoria, Prince George, and Vancouver is an opportunity to learn more about the current right to housing challenges facing people in these communities. The Advocate will focus on learning more about systemic housing issues that are of serious concern in Canada, including the financialization of housing, homelessness and encampments, and Indigenous housing.
It is also an opportunity to see the positive work that many individuals and organizations are doing to advance the right to adequate housing for all.
This is the Advocate's first regional visit since her appointment in February 2022.
