MONTRÉAL, Nov. 25, 2024 /CNW/ - During the official opening ceremony of the 2024 Salon du livre de Montréal, the Salon will unveil new stamps honouring French-Canadian authors.
This Canada Post stamp issue celebrates five award-winning writers – Marie-Claire Blais, Jean Marc Dalpé, Dany Laferrière, Antonine Maillet and Marguerite-A. Primeau – whose work reflect varied francophone experiences across Canada.
These five gifted authors each bring a unique perspective to the canon of French-Canadian literature. Through their novels, plays, poetry and essays, these authors inspire and enlighten readers throughout this country and around the world.
WHO WILL BE PRESENT: Dany Laferrière and Antonine Maillet, alongside Thérèse Blais representing Marie-Claire Blais (1939-2021) and Georgette Haugen representing Marguerite-A. Primeau (1914-2011).
