Media advisory - French Language Services Commissioner to release Annual Report on Thursday, December 5 Français
TORONTO, Nov. 29, 2024 /CNW/ - Carl Bouchard, French Language Services Commissioner of Ontario, will publicly release his 2023-2024 Annual Report on Thursday, December 5 at 9:30 a.m., after it is tabled electronically with the Legislative Assembly.
This report covers the work of the Commissioner and the French Language Services Unit within the Office of the Ombudsman from October 1, 2023, to September 30, 2024. As required by the French Language Services Act, the report also discusses Commissioner Bouchard's recommendations to the government to improve the offer of services in French.
Commissioner Bouchard will hold a press conference at the Queen's Park Media Studio on December 5 between 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Journalists can participate in person or by teleconference. The press conference will also be streamed live on the Ombudsman's website – www.ombudsman.on.ca.
The report, press release and opening remarks by the Commissioner will be posted on the Ombudsman's website at 9:30 a.m. and shared via social media.
Accredited journalists who wish to participate in the press conference and obtain an embargoed copy of the report (to be sent the morning of December 5) are asked to send a request by email to the contacts below before 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4.
Members of our French Language Services Unit will be available to answer journalists' questions about the report on background between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. in Committee Room 1 at Queen's Park, or via Microsoft Teams (a meeting link will be sent upon request).
