MEDIA ADVISORY - Game on, Grandma! Calgary Pickleball Club serves up youth program
CALGARY, AB, March 27, 2025 /CNW/ - How many competitive sports can you play with your parents and grandparents?
Once considered a pastime for retirees, Calgary's only non-profit pickleball club is attracting a new generation of players to this accessible, affordable sport. Kids like 10-year-old Peyton has earned an impressive 3.0 player rating and regularly challenges his parents and 70-year-old grandma to intense pickleball matches.
With support from a Province of Alberta Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Grant, Calgary Pickleball Club launched a junior players' program this month for ages 8-17. Over the next six months, youth can join lessons, tournaments or clinics — no experience or equipment required!
Media are invited to film, photograph and interview junior and senior players, including Peyton's family, at the Calgary Pickleball Club's Junior Program kick-off event.
