Media Advisory: GE Canada CEO to Explore Path to Canadian Energy Leadership in Accepting Energy Person of the Year Award
TORONTO, Nov. 9, 2016 /CNW/ - Elyse Allan, President and CEO of GE Canada, will address an industry gathering in Toronto tomorrow evening, on the occasion of the presentation to her of the Energy Council of Canada's 2016 Energy Person of the Year award.

Allan's remarks will address the question of whether energy leadership is still attainable for Canada. She will address the changing landscape of the Canadian energy industry, and the requirements to achieve and maintain global competitiveness. She will deliver the message that Canadians can be energy leaders and that the path to this is through innovation.
The Canadian Energy Person of the Year award recognizes significant contributions to the energy sector – in the industry, government and community contexts – and in advancing Canada's role in world energy markets. Allan was nominated and selected based on her passionate commitment to Canadian competitiveness, her advocacy for the application of science and innovation to energy sector challenges, her engagement in dialogue on energy strategy and policy, and her strong record of community service.
