MEDIA ADVISORY - GEORGE BROWN COLLEGE CELEBRATES LEGACY CONVOCATION
TORONTO, Oct. 28, 2022 /CNW/ - George Brown College is celebrating the achievements of its 2020 and 2021 graduates who did not receive an in-person convocation due to COVID-19.
Three ceremonies will be held at The Carlu on Saturday, October 29. Details about convocation and the schedule of events are available on our website.
Join us for a full day of celebration as George Brown honours its graduates from a mix of classes and programs.
What: Media is invited to attend the ceremony and speak with keynote speakers.
When: Saturday, October 29. Media attendance is encouraged between 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Where: The Carlu – 444 Yonge Street #7 Toronto ON
Who: Available to speak to the media are:
- Chris Campbell: Chris is a graduate of the Carpenter General Apprentice Certificate Program at George Brown College's School of Apprenticeship & Skilled Trades. He serves as Vice President, Toronto Carpenters' Union Local 27 and longtime Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Representative, Carpenters' District Council of Ontario.
- Masaki Saito: Chef Masaki Saito is the only chef in Toronto to receive two stars in Michelin's 1st Toronto guide and the only person in the world to hold two stars in both Toronto and New York.
- Raquel Fox: Chef Raquel Fox is a graduate of the Culinary Skills Certificate Program at George Brown College's Chef School. She is also a TV personality, cookbook author, entrepreneur and Bahamian Brand Ambassador.
- Janene Christiansen: Registrar and Associate Vice-President, Strategic Enrolment at George Brown College.
