Media Advisory - Government of Canada to host commemorative event at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site in the lead-up to the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy Français
HALIFAX, NS, May 24, 2024 /CNW/ - Andy Fillmore, Member of Parliament for Halifax, on behalf of the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, will attend a commemorative event jointly hosted by Veterans Affairs Canada and Parks Canada, with Veterans of the Second World War in attendance.
The event will honour and recognize Veterans of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy by sharing some of their stories, followed by a public viewing of the Citadel's "Storm the Beach" D-Day exhibit.
MP Fillmore and other event participants will be available to the media after the event.
