Her Excellency will deliver remarks during Miyo-wîcîwitowin Day. This commemorative event will bring together 18 000 high school students, business leaders and the general public to discuss the impact of residential schools and the importance of implementing the 94 calls to action set out by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Her Excellency will welcome about 100 school children to Rideau Hall and speak on the importance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. There will also be a cultural performance.

Remembering the Children national event
The Governor General will deliver remarks at Remembering the Children, the national commemorative event for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The broadcast event will be co-hosted by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) and APTN, and will include a mixture of personal reflections and artistic performances which explore the truth of residential, day and boarding schools.
