MEDIA ADVISORY - Grand opening of the Albert Jackson Processing Centre, Canada Post's new parcel facility built for Canada's ecommerce future Français
SCARBOROUGH, ON, Sept. 14, 2023 /CNW/ - Canada Post invites you to attend the grand opening of the Albert Jackson Processing Centre in Scarborough, Ont. As Canada's ecommerce delivery leader, this facility will serve as a critical ecommerce hub for the country, with the capacity to process more than one million packages per day.
The Albert Jackson Processing Centre is named after Albert Jackson, who is believed to be the first Black letter carrier in Canada. He faced significant racial barriers in his workplace and was initially barred from working as a letter carrier, before winning the right to do the job he was hired for. Members of his family attended the naming ceremony in 2022.

There will be a tour of the facility for media, following the event. Due to health and safety protocols, certified steel-toed shoes must be worn to be able to participate in the tour. Safety vests will be provided by Canada Post.

Please note that the facility will not be operating at the time of the tour, because of health and safety guidelines.
