MONTREAL, May 29, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - On May 31, Canada's Minister of Agriculture will visit Dawson College to attend the Système alimentaire montréalais (SAM) Conference, where input will be given for a strategic plan to advance food security in Montreal.
Friday, May 31:
9 a.m. - 9:15 a.m.: The Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Canada's Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, will open the second day of the Forum SAM (Système alimentaire montréalais) Conference, which is bringing 200 people from a network of organizations in Montreal that are involved in food sustainability to Dawson College. They will discuss and provide input for a strategic plan for 2020-2022 to advance food justice and sustainability in Montreal. The plan will be ready for October, a year after Montreal became the first city in Quebec and the first francophone city in the world to have a food policy council.
9:15 a.m.- 10 a.m.: Plenary session on access to healthy and local food for Montrealers
10 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Interviews available with:
