CALGARY, AB, June 16, 2020 /CNW/ - What do Olympic hockey, ice cream, medicine, law and biostatistics have in common? Nothing - one would think - except that the skills garnered by individuals in all of those industries have come together to help solve a Covid-19 business problem.
Pandemic Solutions, is a business launched this week, after months of development, by a group of social entrepreneurs, including hockey icon Hayley Wickenheiser, which provides a return-to-work solution for businesses seeking a way to operate in pandemic conditions.
Recently reported statistics from both Canadian and American governments show positive job growth for the first time in months since the pandemic began. As workers return to the job, anxiety is also on the rise for both the employees and employers.
The Pandemic Solutions program addresses the stark new realities facing those businesses by providing clients with the combination of a software solution, consultation, and the creation of processes and manuals tailored to work environments from corporate offices to manufacturing plants. The bedrock of the program is the ability to cohort and track a specific workforce.
"It's more than a nice-to-do. These processes are going to protect not just the employees and the public from a socially responsible standpoint, but these measures also help keep the businesses operational for the long term, so it also protects the business itself," says Dr. Jeff Shaw, of Pandemic Solutions. "The systems we develop allow companies to avoid complete shut-downs, using a scientifically-proven method, if there is an outbreak within their organization."
"From now on, returning to work requires more than just fully-stocked PPE, it requires a thoughtful, science-based system that protects the products and the people," says Hayley Wickenheiser, Olympic Gold Medalist and Managing Partner. "Speaking of people, I've been on a lot of teams and I have an immense amount of trust in this team."
