Event hosted by Skills/Compétences Canada to take place May 20-23, 2010 at Rim Park, Waterloo, Ontario
GATINEAU, QC, April 29 /CNW Telbec/ - Skills/Compétences Canada in partnership with Skills Canada Ontario, will host the 16th Canadian Skills Competition to be held at RIM Park and the Waterloo Memorial Sports Complex in Waterloo, Ontario. The Hon. Minister Milloy, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities will provide remarks on the importance of skilled trades and technology careers at the Opening Ceremonies. The Hon. Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, and Mike Holmes, Host of 'Holmes Inspections' and Canada's Most Trusted Contractor, will close the event by providing remarks regarding the importance of Skilled Trades and Technologies as rewarding career paths for Canadian youth. Representatives from other organizations and industry sectors will also participate at the Event, highlighting the importance of skilled trade and technology industries to the Canadian economy.
The Canadian Skills Competition will take place from May 20-23, 2010. Throughout the four day event which includes two days of Competition, over 550 students from our 13 provinces/territories will provide spectators and media an opportunity to photograph these skills up close and take in the scope of this event throughout the more than 325,000 square feet of competition space.
