OTTAWA, April 8, 2019 /CNW/ - The 2018 Annual Report of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) will be tabled in Parliament on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
The report contains the findings and recommendations of two extensive committee reviews completed in 2018:
- the first external review of Canada's defence intelligence activities; and
- a review of the complex mechanisms used by the Government to establish the core intelligence priorities that frame Canada's national security posture.
The Committee delivered a classified version of the report to the Prime Minister on December 21, 2018. The public version of the Annual Report is expected to be tabled at approx. 10 a.m. After tabling, copies of the report will be available through the parliamentary press gallery and at http://www.nsicop-cpsnr.ca/index-en.html.
The Chair of NSICOP, the Hon. David McGuinty, will deliver remarks on the report during an 11:15 a.m. news conference. It will be followed by a Q&A session with parliamentary press gallery members.
