OTTAWA, Jan. 30, 2020 /CNW/ - The 42nd Winterlude officially kicks off on Friday. Join us at select Winterlude destinations to experience the fun, magic and thrill of winter!

Snowflake Kingdom, behind the Chinook super slide at Jacques-Cartier Park, 10:00 a.m. (Gatineau)
A fun photo opportunity with a friendly tug-of-war between spokespersons. The activity will take place by the main tower, between the Chinook and Iceberg super slides.
Sparks Street, between Elgin and Metcalfe streets, noon (Ottawa)
Check out the progress of the International Ice Carving Challenge, presented by Tim Hortons. The internationally renowned ice-carvers will start carving at 8:30 a.m. Find out what shapes are starting to emerge from the ice and enjoy the Winterlude atmosphere downtown.
Sparks Street, between O'Connor and Bank streets, 6:00 p.m. (Ottawa)
The Winterlude kick-off concert starts at 7:00 p.m., featuring Morgan Grace, Sarahmée, DJ NDN and Virginia to Vegas. Stay a little longer to experience the magic of the interactive light displays as they illuminate the winter night.
