Virtual event digs deep into industry's pressures to reduce emissions and address climate risk
TORONTO, Nov. 15, 2023 /CNW/ - KPMG in Canada invites the media to attend its 19th Annual Mining Executive and Director Forum on November 21 on the industry's most-pressing challenge: Decarbonization. The Forum is a virtual event and by registration only.
"Canada's mining industry is being reshaped by the drive to decarbonize," says Heather Cheeseman, Partner and National Mining Leader, KPMG in Canada. "The industry has an important role to play in the world's energy transition and faces increasing pressure from various stakeholders to reduce emissions and address climate risk. Already the industry is driving forward with innovative solutions, including low-carbon technologies that are helping to reduce downstream emissions. As we will explore in our Forum, decarbonization is both a requirement and a responsibility for all mining organizations."
