Media Advisory - Law Society presents honorary LLD to preeminent expert in creditor-debtor law: Franklyn Harris Bennett Français
TORONTO, Sept. 28, 2021 /CNW/ - At the October 1, 2021 Convocation meeting the Law Society will present a degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa (LLD) to Franklyn Harris Bennett, one of Canada's pre-eminent experts in creditor-debtor, bankruptcy and insolvency law.
The Law Society awards honorary doctorates each year to distinguished individuals in recognition of outstanding achievements in the legal profession, the rule of law or the cause of justice.
Mr. Bennett is the past head of section and lecturer for the Ontario Bar Admission Course on Creditors' and Debtors' Rights and Remedies, special lecturer in real estate and in family law, past chair of both the bankruptcy and insolvency section of the Canadian Bar Association, National and Ontario, and a long-time council member of the Ontario Bar Association. His accomplishments and contributions have been highly recognized. He was awarded a Law Society Medal in 1995.
