After leaving Montreal on September 14th, Pierre Céré, spokesperson for the NCUW and Nicolas Miot, social rights advisor to the Comité Chômage de Montréal, walked to Ottawa, and will arrive on September 22nd, accompanied by social, labour, political and Indigenous allies. The NCUW representatives wish to draw attention to the expiry of the temporary EI measures, the absence of the announced reform of the program, the delay in the improvement of the duration of sickness benefits and the unacceptable administrative delays faced by claimants.
