Media Advisory - Media accreditation for satellite launch: Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, Oct. 21, 2022 /CNW/ - NASA is inviting media to Vandenberg Space Force Base in California to witness the launch of the Surface Water and Ocean Topography (SWOT) mission, scheduled for no earlier than December 5.
Led by NASA and France's space agency (CNES), SWOT will survey 90% of Earth's surface water to address climate change and improve our management of water as a strategic resource.
Canada is providing a key component of NASA's Ka-band Radar Interferometer (KaRIn) instrument. This device, a set of extended interaction klystrons, will amplify the power needed to measure water surface elevation. Canada is also engaged in SWOT science activities.
