LONGUEUIL, QC, Aug. 17, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ - From August 1 to 31, four stratospheric balloons are being launched at the Timmins Base carrying experiments designed by Canadian teams, as part of the 2022 STRATOS campaign. On August 18, media and local summer camp students from Science Timmins will be able to attend workshops and tour the launch and control sites.
STRATOS is the CSA's stratospheric balloon program, created in 2012 in collaboration with France's space agency, the Centre national d'études spatiales (CNES). It provides Canadian universities and businesses with an opportunity to test and validate new technologies and perform scientific experiments in a near-space environment.
Media representatives are invited to attend the activities listed below. Media interested in interviews with CSA experts, may contact the CSA's Media Relations Office.
