MEDIA ADVISORY - Minister Anandasangaree to announce funding to strengthen energy security in Nunavut

IQALUIT, NU, Feb. 3, 2025 /CNW/ - The Honourable Gary Anandasangaree, Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs and Minister responsible for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency, will announce support for the Iqaluit Nukkiksautiit Project to examine the feasibility of the construction of a waterpower project near Iqaluit. He will be joined by the Honourable P.J. Akeeagok, Premier of Nunavut, the Honourable John Main, Minister responsible for the Qulliq Energy Corporation, Solomon Awa, Mayor of the City of Iqaluit, Olayuk Akesuk, President of the Qikiqtani Inuit Association, and Harry Flaherty, President & CEO, Nunavut Nukkiksautiit Corporation.
