Media Advisory - Minister Mélanie Joly will make an announcement regarding support for the tourism and cultural industry in the Charlevoix region

LA MALBAIE, QC, Jan. 23, 2019 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie, will discuss tourism with the Mayor of La Malbaie, the Prefect of the Charlevoix-Est RCM and also the President and the Executive Director of Tourisme Charlevoix. She will take advantage of the opportunity to officially announce Government of Canada funding for the municipality of La Malbaie. The aim of the funding, which targets the tourism and cultural industries, is to help increase the number and level of retention of visitors to the region.

The announcement will be made on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), and the Honourable Pablo Rodriguez, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Multiculturalism.

After the announcement, the Minister will take questions from the media.
